Brad Kofoed

Business Development & Communications Strategist

Brad Kofoed is a leader and innovator in connecting communications strategy with game-changing alliances and revenue.

Brad has held CXO and VP-level leadership positions in data protection software and SaaS, telecommunications, Internet, consumer products and government. As White House advisor in the Clinton Administration, he was responsible for developing and coordinating White House communications strategy for five sectors of the American economy in tackling Y2K, working with the nation's infrastructure and network security providers in preparing for the transition.


As VP of Business Development at EVault (acquired by SeaGate in 2006), a leader in the data protection space, he built the global indirect sales channel and negotiated alliances with major partners such as the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and SunGard. He built teams and implemented marketing plans in complex environments including Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea.

He built a global consumer products brand: Mom Invented®. Achievements included placements in the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The London Times, US News & World Report, the Financial Times, CNN, NBC Nightly News, and a three year partnership with Good Morning America.

Brad is one of the creators of the "Think Security First" program which was sponsored by the US Department of Homeland Security, The US Chamber of Commerce, Microsoft and McAfee.

Brad has edited four nationally published business books, edited / written over 100 business columns, has built social media strategy and is a skilled public speaker.

Brad is past Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, past Contra Costa Council Small Business Person of the Year, and serves on the Advisory Board for Contra Costa College Department of Vocational Technology.

Brad earned his Bachelors Degree in communications from Colorado State University where he was also a collegiate athlete. He earned his Masters Degree from Golden Gate University. His outside interests include his family, foreign languages, community service and the outdoors.
