Challenge

The Garden Court began as a delapidated blue clapboard office structure on Cowper Street in Palo Alto. Halleck was engaged immediately after the property was purchased. Working alongside the architect, Halleck was responsible for creating a lasting brand.

Approach

Drawing from architectural renderings and long meetings with the owners and interior designer, Halleck designed a logo illustrating a bougainvilla flower within a courtyard frame. The typography also depicts an enclosure of the hotel. This was applied to stationery, robes, exterior tiles, sales literature, keys, toiletries, and signage.

Results

The Garden Court, after 20 years, remains Palo Alto's premier hotel. The identity and brand have stood the test of time, conveying excellence in product and execution.
